The Reefhouse is the perfect peaceful Caribbean island getaway. Surrounded by tropical flowers, fruit and palm trees, it overlooks the ocean with marvelous panoramic views. Sit on the patio with the sound of the surf and the palm trees, and watch the pelicans fish in the waves and the ferries arrive and depart. There is plenty of seating for al fresco dining. And in the evening a spectacular sunset to complete the perfect day - any month of the year.
According to Forbes Magazine, Vieques has "some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean". None are crowded and at many you will be the only ones there. If you don't drive to one of the many main beaches, you can walk (2 min) from the Reefhouse to a nice cove with a sandy beach and great snorkeling.
In Vieques there are no traffic lights and no casinos, but there are friendly people, good restaurants and gorgeous scenery. Island horses meander along the roads. And Vieques is home to one of the best bioluminescent bays in the world - swimming at night in the glowing water is unforgettable.
Vieques is easily accessed with a 20 minute plane ride from San Juan, Puerto Rico or by 1 1/4 hour ferry ride from the east coast town of Fajardo, Puerto Rico.
